Tom Cashel Board Member Tom is a Director of Asian Pacific Investment Partners, a Managing Director with Chatsworth Securities a boutique investment bank based in Greenwich, Connecticut and is affiliated with Etage Real Estate a New York City real estate brokerage focused on commercial real estate investment. At Chatsworth, Tom is focused on providing investment banking services to clients operating in real estate, real estate technology and oil & gas. Tom joined Chatsworth after working as a Partner with Brookfield Financial in New York where he focused on opening relationships for the firm and on capital raising and M&A across all real estate verticals. Up to year end 2013 he was a Partner and head of capital markets for Cushman & Wakefield in Moscow where he also served on the Russian Management Board. During his tenure at Cushman & Wakefield, Tom built a formidable business with a team that completed numerous large transactions in office, retail, warehouse, hotel and multifamily while maintaining close relationships with many US and international investors, including sovereign wealth funds. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, Tom was CFO of a pre IPO Russian developer and prior to that was a Managing Director with America’s Growth Capital in Boston where he focused on technology equity capital markets and M&A. For several years before joining America's Growth Capital, and after DLJ’s sale to Credit Suisse in 2001, Tom worked in the US with several partners executing sell side technology M&A mandates pertaining to software firms. At DLJ, Tom was based in London and was a Managing Director in the European investment banking group focused across TMT, oil & gas, forest products, transportation, financial institutions and retail with responsibility for Russia and coverage in Southern Europe, Turkey and Israel. He joined DLJ from ING Barings in London where he spent a year putting the bank in the League Tables for Russian debt capital markets. Tom began his career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company where he attended the firm’s Management Training Program – Finance and later moved on to run a large emerging market fixed income sales and trading business for the bank and its successors in London. In London, Tom served as a Board Director for Manufacturers Hanover Limited and also at Chemical Investment Bank Limited. His time with the bank, then Chase Manhattan, ended with his decision to join ING Barings, but he had the distinction in his final post of being the Founding Country Co-Manager for what is now JP Morgan’s operation in Poland. When he has time, Tom is an avid sailor and has spent the last six years serving on the Board of the Fishers Island Yacht Club, the last two of which he has served as the club’s President. Tom is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He resides in the New York area.
